My last blog ... wohoo

Thank god this is my last blog. Overall i enjoyed the whole blogging experience. I think it improved my writing alot. I am able to catch my gramatically mistakes more easily now becuase I am so used to blogging and not spell-checking. I think blogging is a creativy way to learn thats not in the classroom. We get to blog on our own time and we can write about whatver we want. We are also not in the classroom and are comfortbale at our own pace. If i had the choice IN other English classes i would defenitly blog over writing an esssay. If i could change one thing it would be that a certain amount of blogs would be due every week, that would more consistently help students in their

The Library Def. Shouldnt be open on friday nights haha

Well im sitting here in the library and I took a good look around. What i noticed was that there isnt a single soul in this library besides me. I actually think that having the library open past 8 o clock on friday and saturday nights is a waste of money.

Film appriciation class

This past semester I had film appreciation. This class wasn't too bad but the movies that my teacher required are probably the worst movies I have ever seen in my life. My teacher calls them art but i call them garbage. And the worst part about you have to watch all the movies outside of class.

Crunch Time

Well if you check at the time of my previous posts im crunching in all my last minute bloggs to meet my 45 blog requirement. I know I'm going to meet the requirement but I wish I didnt wait till the last minute to finish all of them up. This has taught me an interesting leason. For now I cannot keep on procrastinating because crunch time is the worst feeling in the world. On top of feeling it puts a lot of stress on the body as well and isnt good for your body. So after finishing up these bloggs before I go out tonight, I have to promise myself, NO MORE PROCRASTINATING

Our final and last paper for Chris Drew's Class

As we all know our final paper is due on monday. The topic I decided to write about is the Saddam Huessein trial. What intrests me most about this topic is that I feel that this trial is going to be a stepping stone in history. To tell you the truth I personally feel that Saddam Hussein should rot in hell but that's a differnt story. In my paper I'm going to come from an informative view and load it with facts on top of vast summaries of articles I have read. After doing this I'm going to analyze all the authors views on this trial, if Saddam is guilty or not guilty. Then after that I plan to put in my conclusion then that is the end of my final paper!

I sometimes am two steps ahead of myself

Ive decided im going to concentrate on taking my time more often. Not that I do now, but I feel its so important to take your time in this life. From what we humans know, life only comes once. Why would we want to rush through it. We americans move at a fast pace. Got to get this done, got to do that right now. Im going there right now, im stessed Im going to get figity and move around quickly and be snappy at people. Now do you think thats the way to go? I dont think so. Just take it easy and enjoy your life. Do productive things. Make yourself feel happy and do your best to make others happy. Your born on this earth with life. Not a bundle of stress. So take a few deep breathes and think about your life. Bring yourself back to neutral and check out this life with you in it. Maybe write about it, sing it, play it, say it. Do something to make you feel at peace. Even if its for a couple of minutes.

Incident on the FAU campus

Recently over our thanksgiving break two students passed away on the FAU campus from a drug overdose. I feel that this is a terrible l0ss to the community and I feel that students still aren't aware of the high dangers of mixing drugs. I found out that the two students were under the influence of alcohol, xanax, and cocaine. These my friends are the deadlies combinations out there. The saddest part of all is that these two people that passed away together were in a relationship. In my opinion that is a terrible way to die and by doing drugs is another way of commiting suicide and damage on your body.

I cant believe I;m saying this

As much as I will hate to admit it, I do feel that these bloggings has been beneficial to my writing career. I am now able to write and express my thoughts much more freely. I know I have complained about it in the past, but I do feel that all of this has been beneficial to me. Before, I was quite unsure of the idea of bloggings, because I can be a very private person, but the idea of posting to an online journal three times a week has really helped me to open up and write in a more detailed and exquisite manner. I've caught myself procrastinating at times with the posts but im getting them done. I am still not sure yet if I will continue to keep a blog next semester, but I am quite thankful for the oppurtunity to of at least have had one. I feel that students can write to blogs better than say a journal in paper and pen because there is something about having the freedom of writing to an online journal. If it was pen and paper, I would be far too much concerned about proper grammar than say, content!

I'm in a dilemma

So on wed afternoon I stepped into my geopolitcal affairs class and my teacher finally wanted to tell us about our final. So she handed out her requirements and I started to read them over. What i found was that, our final was a two day long final with a debate on one of the two days. Mind you now I have a flight into philadelphia on monday night at around 8 p.m. After again reading over the paper I found that my debate day was on wed afternoon and was mandatory that I appear at my debate or a I fail the coarse. Well now my dilemma is that I already scheduled my flight on monday night and now I cant leave school until Wed night. I'm deffinatelly going to be losing alot more money re-scheduling my flight

I missed the morning lab again!

Well I was sitting here and I was trying to think of things to write about and here is what I established. I have yet again mised our Friday morning class. 10 o'clock just seems to be too early, or maybe its just that its Friday and im lazy. Either way I wish Lynn wouldn't start classes before 11. I wouldnt mind having class till 4 or 5 every day if we got a late start. Getting enough sleep is essential, and frankly it is very hard to go to bed before 2 or 3 in the morning, especially if you live in the dorms.

The Euro Goes UP again

The euro value has increased; it can buy $1.32 for the first time since a year and a half. This signals acceptance of gains that do not appear to threaten the European economic recovery. The chairman of the Euro group of finance ministers of the countries that uses Euros, Jean Claude Junker, was disliked, because of excessive volatility and disorderly movements. The entire European finance minister had different opinions and theories to this situation. The finance minister of France was drowned out by other ministers who had signaled signs to a threat by the euro to the European economy. The finance minister of Austria thinks it just reflects the strength of the european world.

Abuse in UCLA

On August 14, at approximately 11 pm, a UCLA student was forced with tasers out of the school library. Unfortunately the video captured does not show how the incident started but numerous sources claim the security asked him for his school identification. When the student refused to show security his ID, they then asked him to leave and he refused. At most colleges it is routine to show Identification when asked by security, but the tasered student, Mostafa Tabatabainejad, undoubtedly felt racial profiled. The security might have gone a little overboard with their Star Trek toys. Since the incident, there have been numerous protests and speeches and the security officers have been under investigation.

Comedian Kramer Goes Nuts

On the night of November 17th 2006, former "Seinfeld" star Kramer had a stand up comedy gig and the laugh factory in Los Angelos. He began his gig and a few people started heckling him and it started to irritate him. It so happened that these few people were African American. Well after about 10 minutes into the gig, Kramer bursted in anger and started screaming racial slurs into the mic. That didn't go well with the croud and everyone pulled a walkout. The whole incodent only lasted a whole 3 minutes but these three minutes ruined Kramers career forever. You can find this video on youtube.com

One night out

Last night was my friends birthday and we went to hooters in Pompano, FL. It was my first time ever going there and was pretty funny.. we told the waitress it was my friend Chris' birthday and they had somethng planned for her. So after we all ate dinner. Then they made her stand on a chair and flap her arms like wings while holding menus. Then while she was doing that they sang her a bday song.. It was soo funny and my friend was extremely embarresed. We ven got it on video.. it was a funn night!

Conclusion of this past semster

As we all know, the first semester of this year is coming to an end. For me this was my first semester of college and here is what I think of it. I found that college semesters fly by so fast and by slacking off and procastinating does not help at all. My first semester of college was challenging at times but at other times it was a breese. I can safely say that it was a reality check in some ways but in other ways Im so far having the time of my life. All and all my first semester so far of college is great

Animal Planet

I decided that I was going to contribute this blog entry to the television network Animal Planet. For those who might not know what Animal Planet is, its a t.v. network where all it is is broadcasts and documentaries on vast animals throughout the world. Narrarators such as Steve Erwin and Jeff Corwin lead these expeditions. My main reason for writing this blog is because I really enjoy this t.v. network. Not only is it entertaining, it is educational as well. I think I learn more off Animal Planet then I do in my biology class. I usually finding myself watching Animal Planet on those nights where I come home late or cant get sleep.

Heather Lentz (a.k.a lentz scribbles)

I figured I'd turn up the interest level on my posts just a little bit. This blog is contributed to Heather Lentz and her crazy lifestyle. On the outside Heather appears to be this sweet innocent girl from Maryland who wouldnt hurt a fly. Don't be fooled, realistically Heather is out control. When shes not pushing helpless people out of the way at supermarkets to purchase alcohol (illegally), with a fake ID, shes ok. As you might know Heather is one of the founders of the nightime sunglass mafia, along with Bianca. I wonder why? Here's a funny story about Heather. One night I came into a room in Freiburger and I found Heather dazed and confused watching "growing up lion" on animal planet. Mind you this was at 3:30 in the morning. But all in all I love Heather Lentz and her crazy antics.

Crazy weekend in football

This past weekend I found myself watching almost every NFL game on T.V. What i noticed that this week was probably the most unpredicatble week yet. What I mean by this is that there were a lot of games that turned out completely opposite then expected. For example, in the New York Giants vs. Tennesse Titans game, the giants had the game won till the 4th quarter where the Titans rallied back scoring 24 points in the final quarter to win the game. Another example of a crazy game was the Seattle Seahawks vs. Greenbay Packers game. In this game Green Bay had a strong command against the Seahawks all throughout the first quarter. It seemed obvious that Green Bay was going to take the win in this game due to Seattle's poor play. In the second half Seattle came out as a completely new team and took over to take the win for Monday night Football.

Summary of the Educate Chris Drew Project

Throughout the past week the class has been presenting their various ideas to the class in presentations. The goal of this project was for all the students in the class to learn something interesting from their classmates, and at the same time, improve their writing skills by working on his/her own project. I personally enjoyed this project. I found that having freedom on being able to write about whatever and do a presentation to the class about whatever was a really cool idea. I noticed that by doing this project it kind of helped out with some of my writing skills. The reason it helped out with my writing skills is becuase I had to use descriptive words explain my topic and at the same time had to figure out a style of writing that I could present to the class to make my material a little bit easier to learn. All and all, this was my favorite project so far becuase of the freedom we had to teach about whatever we wanted too.

The New ps3

For anyone who is interested in games or is part of the younger generation knows that today the new Sony PS3 is being released today. People have been camping out at malls, Circuit Cities, Best Buys, and Walmart for the past two days now. The reason behind all this is for what the ps3 retail for on ebay. Normally in the stores the ps3 would sell for 600$, but on ebay they are reselling them for about 1500$. People are actually buying them too! I was actually going to join part of this mayhem but realized that I needed to camp out for two days. On top of all of this people are getting into serious altercations over the lines. In this linkhttp://www.comcast.net/gameinvasion/news/article/1163774365341_1_shot_in_conn_playstation_waiting_line?cvqh=itn_ps3lineShot it talks about how a man was shot in one of the lines. I was only willing to camp out for about a day, so yea, I guess im missing out on the boat. Now the question is, how rediculous do you think these people are that camp out?

Tool I found that makes Bibliographies easier

The past 4 years of my life and throughout highschool I have been using an online tool to help me cite all my work I have found online. On this website it asks you all of the necessary items that you would need to sort out your works cited. Since we are all now working on a research project I thought that I would present a little tool that I have been useing for quite some time now. I figure by using this tool it could reduce everyone's time working on citing their sorces in half. The Site is www.easybib.com

Coach Jailed for Beaning Autistic Player

http://www.comcast.net/sports/others/index.jsp?cat=OTHERSPORTS&fn=/2006/10/12/497557.html&cvqh=itn_coachjailed

I just recently read this article and the first thing that came to mind was how much of a jackass this guy really is. Here is a quick summary of this article. A coach allegedly gave an 8 year money to bean an autistic kid with a baseball so he couldn't play the rest of the game. Now the Fayatee County (Pa) Judicial system is trying to sentence this man 1 to 6 years. I think that this idiot should recieve all 6 years for this crime. Not only was it a child but it wan an autistic child which makes it that much worse. Doesnt this coach have a heart at all? If I were the parents of this autistic child I would have been livid and went through the roof.

Proposal To My Essay

I plan on educating the class on the topic of surfing and how to surf. The reason I chose surfing of all things is becuase I really enjoy it and I feel that it is such a stress reliever, great exercise, and a fun sport. Things I plan to incoporate in my presentation are photos, videos, a little bit of history, and a step by step tutorial on how to surf. I believe since that all of us live in South Florida, where surfing is very popular, it would be useful to actually know a little about surfing.

Here are some resources I came across that might help me with my presentation.

This past week was Alcohol Awarness week

For anyone who didnt know, this past week the University's theme was alcohol awarness. I believe that this is a great idea to help students become more educated on the dangers of drinking but at the same time they did a lowsey job promoting it. Even though it was alcohol awarness week I really didnt come across nor did I hear about any of the events going on for it. I also strongly believe that even having this week is pointless to a large number of students. I say this because to a good amount of students on this campus, there ways and methods of drinking wouldnt be convinced or changed in anyway shape or form, if anything they would drink more in spite of the week. Overall I'm glad that the University had this week because I saw some interesting facts around campus about alcohol that I didn't know before.

The "Snowbird Season"

As I was sitting here thinking about things I could write bloggs about I looked over at my calender. I noticed that the month of October is almost through and that November is on its way obviously. To most people this really isn't a big deal but this is about the time when it starts to get cold up north and all the "older" people start migrating to the south like birds. Now you ask what does this mean? What this means is that roads are going to start to become more crowded with old lincolns and cadillacs. Also this means that I am going to start getting more frusterated when I have to follow some old person going under the speed limit while holding up traffic. Yes this is true South Florida is about to be populated with old people very soon.

Random Thoughts

I thought I would just dedicate this blogg to some random thoughts our paper. I am actually very excited about writing our next paper. The reason being is because it is on any topic that we would like which makes it that much easier. Another reason I am excited is because this paper isn't a normal traditional paper. It has to be presented to the class in someway shape or form. The only concern I have remaining with this paper is that I'm wondering if I do a powerpoint presentation, how long does my text have to be that I hand in? Besides that I can't wait to get underway with completing my project.

News on Sports

Apart from Cory Lidle's terrible death in his plane crash, I plan to write this blogg about what else is going on in the sports world. Due to the early season snowstorm in Buffalo, The ALCS baseball game between the Detroit Tigers and the Oakland A's will be moved up to start at 4 30 p.m. due to the fact that Detroit might be hit with the same storm that Buffalo was hit with. In the NFL, former Superbowl quarterback Kurt Warner is contemplating retirement. I think this would be a great idea, he's terrible. Finally NBA basketball season plans to open up October 31st with a face off between Chicago and Miami.

Snow in October??

I actually just heard this story for myself yesterday and did a little looking into. Yesterday into this morning a rare early October snowstorm slammed Buffalo, Ny leaving it with 2 feet of snow. Not only is there 2 feet of snow on the ground, this storm left more than 220,000 customers without power. The snow brought down numerous powerlines and did a lot of damage leaving the majority of Buffalo without power. If I lived in Buffalo right now i would be absolutley baffeled but at the same time happy because school would be cancelled. What kid doesn't like hearing snow days?

R.I.P ... Cory Lidle

If anyone has turned on their T.V. in the past 3 days, they definately would have seen the story about the small personal airplane flying into a building in NYC. At first the media and the public had no clue on what the motive was nor who was behind the weel of this aircraft. Of coarse the thought of a possible terrorist attack came into question, but that wasnt the case. What really happend was Cory Lidle, former pitcher of the Yankees (2006 season) crashed into the building. At first I was shocked because I would have never thought that a baseball player from its own city would fly a plane into one of the city's buildings. Another reason I was shocked is because when Cory Lidle played for the Phillies earlier in the year, I watched him live play about 6 or 7 times and my friends and I have met him. So to me I felt that the New York Yankees have lost a great man and pitcher and at the same time caused the city a huge headache.

Current Events

In the news in the past week there has been a lot of talk about N. Korea and there nuclear arms program. There were many various reports that they tested one of their nuclear bombs earlier in the week. This caused a huge rucus throughout the world. A lot of countries are now starting to worry and wonder what should be done with N. Korea. The UN has stepped in also. What the UN is trying to do is have N. Korea stop producing there nuclear weapons and disarm their nuclear weapons program. I believe that this is could potentially be an issue of concern but not as of right now. What the world needs to do is just step back and keep a close eye on N. Korea and watch them very closely

Guest Speaker

On Tuesday October 9, I went, along with my FYE class, to see a speaker in the Green Center. This speaker was here to give us students more of an awareness of drinking and driving. He experienced his own reasons for never drinking and driving again. He told everyone a story about his last night of his springbreak of his senior year in college. What happened was, was he and his friends were out at the bar drinking, carrying on, and having fun. The problem is no one wanted to be the DD that night so they figured out who was the "least drunkest" out of the 5. Well what ended up happening was the speaker got into a car accident and killed his 3 friends and his one friend hates him for life. Going to listnen to this man definately gave me more of a wake up call

Notes about my project

Yesterday I went to the library to do some research on my topic (surfing). Some of the things I did in the library include surfing the internet through various surfing sites, write down some notes, begin my power point, and brainstorm some good focal points that I should present to the class. As of today I have 5 strong sorces that I can branch off of to help write my project. Some other things that I am currently working on in my project include figuring out how im going to incorperate a video of some sort into my power point. Overall I believe I had a successful working day in the library yesterday.

Check this out

I recently just read this article http://www.comcast.net/sports/nfl/index.jsp?cat=FOOTBALL&fn=/2006/10/10/496096.html&cvqh=itn_rams. In this article it talked about former Rams running Lawrence Phillips raging on a group of young kids after loosing a pick-up football game. He struck 4 kids and nearly missed 4 others with his car. I personally believe that this is rediculous. This is all over a pick-up game of football. Now after running down these kids with his car in a field, Phillips could see up to 20 years in jail. If this was me in this situation i definately wouldn't have reacted like this guy did. For a former professonal football player, his actions were way out of line and he should face the maximum time. He did almost kill 8 people and he should pay for his crime
